Summary This session is designed to introduce business professionals to the complexities of the rapidly changing landscape of social media marketing through revealing foundational theories and associated concepts of collective behavior, social influence, social media, and marketing. This is essentially a marketing strategy session. The primary focus of this course will be on understanding: users’ social interactions, the impact technology has on marketplace relationships, the various social media channels available to marketers, and how to recognize effective social media marketing strategies.
This workshop will enable participants to:
  • Identify concepts and theories relevant to social media marketing including: collective and collaborative consumption and production, the impact of technology on the marketplace and market-oriented relationships, social influence and word-of-mouth, and emotional and behavioral engagement.
