Eller Executive Education Signs National Programme for Leadership Development and Future Foresight Agreement in Oman
Muscat, Oman -- On Monday, March 1, 2021, Eller Executive Education announced that it has formally launched an agreement with the Oman Ministry of Finance to provide the Government of Oman with leadership development services that will establish the country and its prestigious Institute of Public Administration as a regional hub for leadership programming, thought leadership, and research.
Oman selected the Eller Executive Education from among 25 highly respected academic institutions, including Thunderbird, the University of Michigan, the Institute for Management Development in Switzerland and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
The opportunity to collaborate with the Royal Academy of Management on the National Programme for Leadership Development and Future Foresight was jointly pursued by Eller Executive Education and the UArizona Research, Innovation and Impact’s Defense Offset team, through connections fostered by Arizona Global.
"Through this unique partnership, the University of Arizona plays a key role in the development of the next generation of government officials," says Joe Carella, Dean of Eller Executive Education at UArizona, "and paves the way for the first of its kind Center for Leadership in the Middle East."
The agreement was signed by Dr. Dhafir al Shanfari (Ministry of Finance), Sayyid Zaki al Busaidy, CEO of IPA, and Joe Carella, Dean of Eller Executive Education at UArizona.
The program aims to uplift government performance by providing managerial and leadership skills training to directors of various government units. Throughout the agreement period, Eller Executive Education will train 150 directors from multiple government units. They will also conduct training courses at the national level to ensure the sustainability of the program.
Eller will also provide short courses for higher management and employees from various government units. A select few will be enrolled in the Advanced Government Leadership Program, to be conducted at the University of Arizona campus in Tucson, Arizona.
